Applying custom information to a point of sale order


When building your field you can assign the field to apply to orders or line items. Fields that apply to orders will be applied to the created order as order attribtues. These will be displayed under the “Additional details” in the admin.

Adding a custom field to the order will apply it to the completed order as an order attribute

Order fields are ideal for data that should be applied to the whole order, such as a customer’s membership number or preferences. When the order is complete, the value will be stored as an order attribute in Shopify, which can be edited but not fully removed without using the Shopify admin API or an app.
